Half-Life 2 - is a cult computer game in the sci-fi first-person shooter genre, developed by Valve Software and published by Sierra Studios on November 19, 1998 for the PC. Half-Life was one of the first games , in which the plot develops entirely within the game space (without the use of video screensavers). Game publishers have praised the game's innovative storytelling style. Another strength of Half-Life is called the artificial intelligence of opponents (AI).

Half-Life is one of the first games where the player has allies. Many publications note that Half-Life revolutionized the first-person shooter genre and marked the beginning of a new stage in its development. The plot of most games in the series is based on the adventures of theoretical physicist Gordon Freeman.
